He barely made it out of secondary school, but today, he’s earning millions – more than his peers with diplomas and degrees could ever dream of.
For Jerome Tan, 57, financial success isn’t defined by academic achievements. Instead, it’s determined by the ability to think out of the box.
Life, however, hasn’t always looked this rosy.
Adopted as a child, Jerome felt lucky that his family doted on him the same way any biological family love their children.
But he had neither a television set nor telephone in his home. Having enough food to eat was already counted as a blessing.
To make ends meet, he would help his mother, who worked as a washer woman, after school every day.
He went around knocking on doors to collect bed sheets and soiled clothing for her to wash.
Although he graduated with an O-Level certificate at 17, his results weren’t ideal: just two passes, in English and Mathematics.
Nonetheless, Jerome was thrilled that he could finally strike it out on his own.
He took on a series of odd jobs, managing to save $2,000 – enough to start a perfume business with a group of friends.
His venture was short-lived, however. Before it could take off, he was cheated of his money and products.
He spent the next seven years in the army and another 11 years in the insurance industry.
Even though the money was comfortable, Jerome realised that he was getting nowhere.
By the time he decided to refocus his career, the year was already 1996. Jerome’s age? 36.
The economy was becoming increasingly competitive, leading the government to promote higher education in a bid to tap into Singapore’s most precious resource – its people.
In turn, employers were beginning to value those with diplomas and degrees.
The country was evolving at a faster pace than before – and Jerome risked being left out!
But he had other ideas.
Working for others was never going to make him truly rich anyway, so he set up a holiday resort business.
Unfortunately, he never made any money.
His capital was wiped out within a year. Amidst a mounting debt, Jerome was forced to close his business.
Unable to repay the large sums he owed the banks, he was declared a bankrupt.
With a family of five, including himself, to feed, he needed a solution – quickly!
He tried asking for loans from his friends and loved ones, but often found himself ignored or abandoned.
Jerome felt that he had hit the lowest point of his life.
Not one to give up hope easily, he still harboured dreams of making it big one day.
He had read about people who turned their fortunes around. These people were once bankrupt or, like him, didn’t stay in school for very long, yet they now lead comfortable lives.
What was their secret?
He learnt that they had enrolled in personal development courses, so he decided to use some money that he had borrowed from his friends to sign himself up for seminars.
One of the seminars that he went to taught him how to buy properties without any capital. Best of all, no previous education or training was required.
Needless to say, it was perfect for him!
Today, Jerome owns more than 100 properties in Singapore and around the world.
These properties help him pull in healthy profits every month with little to no effort.
He has essentially achieved the freedom of not needing to worry about his finances ever again.
In fact, for the past 15 years, he has been educating his 3,000 plus valued members about wealth creation, and even invited to big stages to share his success secrets too.
However, Jerome hasn’t gotten to this stage of his life by just attending one seminar. In fact, he has learnt the ins and outs of the trade from property gurus all over the world.
Luckily for you, Jerome has compiled these various resources and refined them through his years of experience in the industry – and he’s ready to share his secrets with you!
