For something different, the Wheeler’s Yard is a bicycle-themed cafe that serves burgers, coffee, and other western delicacies. For that “Instagram-worth” picture, this unconventional creative cafe is a fave not only among cyclist but tourists as well. Events are also held at the Wheeler’s Yard, as it occupies an entire warehouse in the corner of Balestier area.
They have their in-house mechanic that would pimp your bike in style. They have a wide array of bicycle decorations of all colors and sizes.
6) Kampong Buangkok
Location: near Gerald Drive (off Yio Chu Kang Road)
Don’t miss visiting the Kampong Buangkok, if you are looking for a piece of Singapore’s history! This is considered as the last surviving “Kampong”, which means village.
It is home to 30 families living in houses made of zinc coated roofs and wood. This village is like any other villages in the world with children running around, playing in the dirt. They still pay a monthly rent of not more than $30 to the landlord Madam Sng Mui Hong, who owns the land from inheritance.
